Moosh is a 2 year old German Shepherd that has been fighting the odds of life since birth. Moosh was born with one front limb not fully developed. Moosh had to quickly learn to walk, run and play with only 3 legs while every other dog had 4 to sprint with. After learning the basics with his previous owner, Moosh came into our care on the 25th January 2026. He was a little nervous at first but very quickly formed strong bonds with everyone at the branch.
Moosh has an infectious smile and he treats every photo as an opportunity to pose to his hearts content. After spending a few months in our care we did some investigating into Moosh’s condition – a deformed distal radius/ulna. This caused Moosh to over compensate with his other 3 limbs to keep up with everyone else.
Funded by kind donations to the branch, Moosh underwent physio and hydrotherapy with a specialist. Moosh completed exercises to improve the strength in his other limbs. He was a good boy throughout and we all loved to see the improvement in Moosh’s fitness.
As quick as we got Moosh up and working hard, he received an application for adoption. A family in County Durham wanted to help and support Moosh further! Moosh has now transferred to a new clinic and is also being fitted for a splint, funded by your donations to improve his strength further and begin to use all 4 legs!
Moosh now goes by Moose and is living life to the fullest!
