Waffle first came to our branch on the 4th April 2025 – she previously lived outside in a kennel and is slowly getting used to home comforts.
She is quite a nervous girl, though her confidence is growing by the day, so would do best in a quiet environment with no young children. She has lived with a medium-sized dog before and is friendly around them, however we are ideally looking for a home where she could be the only dog so she can have sole focus and lots of TLC.
Waffle is a beautiful lady, around 6 years old, she has some alopoecia as can be seen in some pictures, we will discuss this in more detail with interested adopters but there is no ongoing treatment prescribed for this.
Waffle is a spaniel, so here are some characteristics you may spot in her behaviour:
- Spaniels thrive on human companionship, and often love nothing more than pleasing their owners, meaning that they are likely to be receptive to training
- Though Waffle is still getting the hang of walks, spaniels are quite an energetic breed and will thrive with regular play and walking
- Spaniels like Waffle will thrive from a semi- or fully-rural environment but if you are more urban, ensure you can provide plenty of stimulation and exercise for her
- Waffle would prefer company for the majority of the time, as spaniels also may suffer from separation anxiety
