More information

Dakota and Dahlia came to our branch on the 19th March 2025

They are available for adoption either as a pair or on their own. Dakota is 3 years old and Dahlia is thought to be around 1 year old.

Both girls are not yet housetrained, they have been through some stress in their life so are looking for company and care in their new homes, they have previously lived with other dogs but are looking for a slower pace so we are hoping they could go as the only dogs in a home.

Dahlia was born with a deformed ear, but she is a loving girl and doesn’t let anything break her stride! Dakota is a little on the shy side but will soon warm up to you once she’s comfortable.

*Please ask about their adoption fee, as they are breed standard animals*

Dakota and Dahlia are miniature dachshunds, meaning that you may spot these behaviour patterns:

  • Dachschunds are keen to play, and dachshunds as a breed are known to chase after mops or chase after dropped items, so ensure you’re able to provide them with plenty of games!
  • Dachshunds are typically strong-willed, meaning that obedience training is a must – especially so with these girls who are still in need of house training!
  • You’ll need to keep these ladies busy with plenty of mental stimulation and exercise, around 2 walks a day is best or plenty of garden playtime as they only have little legs!
